Steve Hunt, hailed as a legendary American jazz pianist and composer, has devoted his illustrious career to creating and performing heartfelt jazz music. He has released five albums, contributed to numerous musical projects, and toured globally with his concerts. A seasoned performer, music producer, and music director, Hunt’s artistry spans decades.

Steve served as music director for the renowned touring ensemble Jazz Explosion, collaborating with iconic saxophonists like Kenny G, Freddie Hubbard, Gato Barbieri, and Stanley Turrentine at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., San Francisco’s Circle Star Theater, New York’s Beacon Theatre, Los Angeles’ Universal Amphitheatre, and London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Within the American jazz scene, he worked with acclaimed musicians like Randy Roos and Tiger Okoshi while leading his own jazz band. His extraordinary talent quickly propelled him to prominence, leading to a decade of international tours with legends such as Billy Cobham, Stanley Clarke, Angela Bofill, Tom Browne, and Allan Holdsworth. These tours spanned Japan, Israel, Austria, France, the UK, Italy, Sweden, Argentina, Australia, and cities across the U.S. and Canada.

Hunt’s original compositions—Maid Marion, Joshua, and Dodgy Boat—were featured on Holdsworth’s albums Secrets, Wardenclyffe Tower, and Hard Hat Area, respectively. Their collaboration earned international acclaim, including coverage in the Japanese edition of Keyboard magazine. Beyond collaborative work, Steve showcased his versatility and compositional prowess on albums with bass legend Stanley Clarke, including If This Bass Could Only Talk and East River Drive.

In addition to performing and recording, Hunt shares his expertise as a professor at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and runs his own record label, Spice Rack, renowned for its professionalism and technical excellence.
